As I finalise my talk submissions for SXSW’s inaugural London event, I’m feeling a mix of excitement, nerves, and purpose.
I wanted to do something different—rather than just adding to the noise around AI - to push boundaries and create something meaningful.
I reached out to some of the most inspiring collaborators I know, and together, we’ve crafted four talks that I believe will make a mark.
Beyond Convergence: Creation Culture & the Rise of Networked Power
In 2006, Henry Jenkins introduced Convergence Culture, where media, tech, and participation merge. Today, that vision has evolved into a decentralised world of networked power. With Cathy Hackl, "Godmother of the Metaverse," we’ll explore the next era of convergence theory in which brands can become immersive playgrounds; leveraging spatial computing, mixed reality, creation gaming and more - the sky is no longer the limit.

The Vanishing Act: How Women Are Erased from the Creative Industry
For the first time, we’re telling the full story of womanhood in the creative industry to reveal the hidden narrative. Alongside powerhouse change agents Nikki Crumpton, Melissa Robertson, Jane Evans, Clemmie Telford & Gemma Phillips, we’ll highlight how biases, blind spots, and cultural taboos push women out—from menstruation to motherhood, menopause to ageism. We'll showcase the great work happening across the board to kick start not just a conversation, but a movement to make the industry a place where women are visible, valued and supported at every stage.
From Conspicuous Consumption to Conscientious Co-creation: Building Regenerative Brands through Participatory Worldbuilding.
Fandoms may seem fleeting, but their power to shape the future runs deep. With John V Willshire, we’ll explore how fan culture can drive regenerative futures, with brands acting as facilitators in ecosystems that invite active participation. By merging the rituals, energy and organisational power of fandom with regenerative design, we can create platforms for meaningful change—where fans don’t just support the brand, they help shape it, creating communities that work together toward a better world - a vision of continuous growth, evolution and real impact.

Horizons Unbound: Reimagining Futures Through Polyfuturism And Indigenous Wisdom.
Teaming up with Heidi Hackemer and Tatewin Means, we’ll introduce polyfuturism, a vision of multiple possible futures outside of the Western lens. Through diverse perspectives like Afrofuturism, Solarpunk and Cli-Fi. Tatewin will then guide us into an Indigenous vision rooted in the Lakota approach to “long-arc” 150 year planning; centered on cultural continuity, ecological stewardship and community resilience. We’ll explore futures that are both ancient and visionary, laying the foundation for the flourishing of generations to come.
